Afrikan History Week 2010

Ivan Mazuze

Afrikan History Week festival (collaboration with Manou Gallo)

Ivan Mazuze collaborating with Belgium based singer and bass player from Ivory Coast Manou Gallo (former Zap Mama member) at Afrikan History Week in Oslo, September 2010. This is an extension of the collaborations that I have been doing in the past 10 years with some outstanding African contemporary musicians. Really looking forward to this!!!

Cape Town Tour 2010 April-May

The Cape Town tour this year was really something else, this time was 100% production of my company Imazuze Music. This was all possible thanks to the Arts Council Norway, FFUK, UD and Norwegian Jazzforum for sponsoring this tour.

The concept to of this tour was to combine the two existing Ivan Mazuze Group elements from Norway and South Africa performing all together music from the debut album Maganda with new arrangements. This in fact worked well more than expected.

The audiences were incredibly supportive and appreciative this gave indeed a great interaction with them.

This time we have performed in all my Cape Town favorite venues and to this I say thank you to the management of Rainbow Room (Sara Elisabeth Holloway), SABC studios auditorium (Dave Williams), Swingers jazz club, Artscape Arena (Guy Burbidge) and Nassau Center (Cliff Wallis) has been indeed a pleasure working with you all.

Thanks to all Ivan Mazuze Group members and crew for their collaboration:

Ricardo Sanchez-percussion

Ragnhild Tveitan-saxophones

Lukas Khumalo-bass

Charles Lazar-double bass

Frank Paco-drums

kevin Gibson-drums

John Hassan-percussion
